Happy Monday!
It's feeling chilly and a bit miserable in Brisbane today - hopefully the sun will be shining again soon. Vitamin D is super helpful in ridding ourselves of these winter lurgies - as are Citrus Fruits! We have an abundance of fresh, spray-free citrus fruits for you this week from Neil and Tanya Richards at Gayndah.
Here's a few ways to add extra citrus (and vitamin C) into your diet:
🍯 Drink lemon & honey tea
🍋 Add fresh lemon to your water and squeeze over main dishes
🍋 Preserve lemons and add them to a wide variety of dishes
🥤 Squeeze some fresh orange juice each morning
🍊 Eat Mandarins and Oranges as snacks every day.
PRODUCE UPDATE 🍎
We have some new citrus fruits from Gayndah this week - Lemonades and Ruby Grapefruit.
Lemonades are a cross between a lemon and a mandarin. They're sweeter than a lemon and really delicious added to your water or tea.
Also new this week we have Leeks, Wombok and Sugarloaf Cabbage from Sandy Creek Gourmet Produce, as well as bunches of fresh Rocket from Mt Cotton Organic Farm. Perfect for winter broths and soups.
Wulff and Cubb Gourmet Mushrooms now come as a medley pack so you'll get a lovely mix of pearl, blue and/or pink Oyster Mushrooms in each pack. Pretty soon we'll also have Shiitake and Lion's Mane Mushrooms for you.
GROCERY UPDATE 🛒
June specials from Indie Bakehouse will go live on the website today (we're just waiting for pics from the busy baker). There are some new Giant Cookie flavours plus a Whooly Seedy Sourdough and a preserved Lemon & Feta Sourdough.
Organic Salmon is due to arrive this week - we'll make it live as soon as we have it in our hands!
We're also continuing to expand our meat range - pretty soon we'll be adding some Venison from our friend Jonas at Fair Game, chicken from Inglewood Farm and Lamb from Rising Sun Farm. Watch this space!
Infinite love & gratitude,
Kristen & Trevor and all the team at the Spray-Free Farmacy
