Can you tell us a bit about Wulff & Cub?
Located in the picturesque Lockyer Valley in South East Queensland, Wulff & Cub is a family-owned and family-grown business dedicated to cultivating the freshest organic mushrooms.
We handpick our mushrooms just hours before they appear in your box of organic groceries. It doesn’t get any fresher than that.
How did you get into farming mushrooms?
The combination of a long-time mushroom forager and a health obsessed Naturopath birthed the idea of organic mushroom farming! And after 30 years of passion for all things mushroom, we just couldn’t say no any longer.
What do you enjoy about your work?
Everything. The daily connection with nature, the satisfaction of nurturing life from the soil, and the constant learning and adaptation make each day uniquely fulfilling.
Why did you decide to farm without chemical sprays? How important is this to you?
We live by it. Farming without chemical sprays is not just a choice; it's a commitment to sustainable practices that respect the environment and promote the well-being of all living things.
What challenges has this created for you, and how do you overcome them naturally?
Farming naturally comes with its challenges, but it is what it is, and you deal with it. Finding natural solutions, working in harmony with the ecosystem, and embracing the unpredictability of nature are integral parts of overcoming challenges in a way that aligns with our commitment to chemical-free farming.
