Kristen's Cold & Flu Jellies

gluten-free-dairy-free-organic-fruit-and-vegetable-healthy-recipe

When you start sniffling or that tickle in your throat just won’t quit, these little jellies might be your new go-to remedy. They’re packed with natural ingredients to support your immune system - and they taste so much better than anything you’ll find in the medicine aisle.

With freshly grated ginger and turmeric, zesty lemon juice, raw honey, and gut-loving gelatin, these Cold & Flu Jellies are a simple and nourishing treat to have on hand during cold and flu season. Pop a few in the fridge and reach for one whenever you feel something coming on… or just because they’re delicious. 😋

🌿 What You’ll Need

2 cups water

1/3 cup fresh lemon juice

1–2 tablespoons raw honey (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon coconut oil

Freshly grated ginger and turmeric — as much as you can handle!

3 heaped tablespoons gelatin powder (grass-fed if possible)

🥄 How to Make Them

If you’re using a saucepan:

Add all ingredients to a blender and blitz until well combined.

Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and gently heat over medium-low until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is warm - but don’t boil it.

Pour into silicone moulds, ice cube trays, or a shallow dish.

Pop in the fridge for 1–2 hours to set.

If you’re using a Thermomix:

Add all ingredients to your bowl.

Mix on speed 2, 80°C, for 6 minutes.

Pour into moulds or a tray and refrigerate for 1–2 hours until set.

💡 Tips & Variations

No fresh turmeric or ginger? You can use powdered versions in a pinch — just start with 1/2 teaspoon of each and adjust to taste.

Don’t have moulds? Pour the mixture into a glass container or baking dish and slice into cubes once set.

These jellies are a fun way to sneak extra nourishment into your day - even the kids will love them (you can ease off the ginger if they’re spice-sensitive!).
