Farmacy Weekly Report 2023 Week #7

Farmacy Weekly Report 2023 Week #7

Happy Monday!

Phew! That was a hot one. If you've ever grown your own food at home you'll know what happens to many plants, especially seedlings, when they're hit with such extreme heat - they shrivel up and die 😱

The heat wave about 4 weeks ago had the same impact and that creates a gap in our supply right about now. Sadly this week we have no Papaya, Cauliflower, Sugar Snap or Snow Peas, Coriander or Round Tomatoes.

We do still have more than 100 varieties of fresh fruit, veg and herbs though so really - you're not missing out on too much! With more than 25 spray-free and organic farmers in our network now, we have the widest variety of fresh produce we've ever had! And more farmers are contacting us all the time asking what we'd like them to grow for us.

What would you like to see added to our collection?

PRODUCE UPDATE 🍎

New this week we have fresh Figs from Kel's farm at Sandy Creek. Figs are best friends with Goats Cheese and we have that in stock this week too. It's the perfect weather for summer salads.

We have more fresh Dragonfruit from Kel's farm as well this week - this time it's Red Flesh and it's so yummy.

HELP OUT A FARMER 👩‍🌾

Our friends at Echo Valley Farm need your help getting their on-farm butchery happening. This is a really worthwhile cause to get behind as it's paving the way for a kinder, healthier, fairer food system. They're offering an awesome array of goodies and experiences in exchange for your support.

Please check it out here and help them reach their funding goal!

FAREWELL TO TESS 🚚❤️

Our amazing driver Tess is finishing up with us this week to go back to university. Turns out Tess is also a budding musician so I thought I'd share her first track "Transcend the Madness" with you here.

Click here to listen on Soundcloud.

We look forward to introducing you to our new driver very soon.

Wishing you amazing health and happiness,
Kristen x
