Healthy Flat Bread Recipe (GF, DF, V)


Trev has shared another one of his go to recipes. This time for flat breads using just a handful of ingredients you'll likely already have in the pantry in just 3 easy steps.

Healthy Flat Bread Recipe

1 cup almond meal
1 cup tapioca flour (or arrowroot flour)
1/2 cup coconut milk (Pure harvest UHT)
1/2 cup filtered water
2 teaspoons of herbs/spices (ie oregano and garlic powder)
Pinch of salt 

1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl to make a smooth (runny) batter. 
2. Heat Coconut/Olive oil in a non stick pan on medium heat.
3. Pour around 3 tablespoons into the pan depending on how big you like your pitas and heat for 2-3 minutes each side.

Chef Trev's notes: I like to marinate some chicken skewers and cook them on the barbecue and add them to the pitas with some lettuce, tomato and cucumber, choose a sauce that you like and there you have a healthy gluten free souvlaki. Yummy!
