Hey foodie! 👋🍂
Happy first day of Autumn! We hope you’ve squeezed every last drop out of summer… salty swims, late afternoon picnics, backyard BBQs, sandy car floors and all.
Keep an eye on your inbox this Thursday 👀 We’re sending out our Autumn Seasonal Guide, packed with what’s in season, what to cook, and a few simple tips to make the most of this glorious, slower, soupier season.
Now, here’s what’s happening behind the scenes at your favourite foodie corner…
🌿 FROM THE FARMS 🌿
🐑 Lamb is coming back! – Dugald & Jen, Djularoo
We’re very excited about this one. Dugald and Jen (who work closely with the legends at Echo Valley Farm) have lamb coming to our freezers by the end of next week… which means lamb kebabs, lamb rogan josh, slow-cooked shanks and all the cosy meals are back on the menu.
You’ll soon see:
• Lamb Mince
• Diced Lamb
• Lamb Loin Chops
• Lamb BBQ Shoulder Chops
• Shanks
Now let’s talk fruit & veg…
🥔 Organic Kipfler Potatoes – Bio Farms, Tasmania
Some potatoes prefer cooler climates, which is why our Kipflers and Dutch Creams come from Tassie. Kipflers are the ultimate wedge potato - crispy outside, buttery inside. Available washed and unwashed (for those who like their spuds a little closer to the soil).
🥕 Organic Purple Carrots – Bio Farms, Tasmania
Certified organic and grown using biodynamic and regenerative principles.
Their deep purple colour means they’re packed with anthocyanin antioxidants (up to 28x more than orange carrots). Think anti-inflammatory, oxidative stress-fighting goodness. Roast them whole with a drizzle of olive oil to add a bit of colour to your table.
🌿 Organic Fennel Bulbs – Cafresco Organics, Koo Wee Rup
Fennel is one of those veggies that people either love… or just haven’t met properly yet. Roast it with a splash of broth until caramelised and soft, or slice it thin into a salad with orange segments and sprinkle over the leafy fronds. It’s fresh, slightly sweet, and a little anise-y.
🍐 Spray-Free Beurre Bosc Pears – Mario Giacosa, Stanthorpe
These beauties have that classic brown skin and firm flesh. Great for poaching and popping on your morning porridge. Pears usually sit high on the “dirty dozen” list due to heavy pesticide use… but not these. Mario grows them spray-free, so you can snack happily without worrying about nasty chemicals.

🐟 Tuna Fillets in Organic EVOO – The Stock Merchant
Keep a jar in the pantry for emergency lunches. Add to salads, toss through pasta, or pile onto sourdough with capers and lemon. Done.
Why we love them:
• Wild caught MSC certified tuna
• Preserved in certified organic EVOO
• Hand-filleted & packed using traditional Portuguese methods
• BPA-free packaging
🍞 Update from Tanya at Indie Bakehouse
Tanya’s been busy (as always) and the ovens have been working overtime.
Fresh this week:
• Rose Butterscotch Cookie (GF)
There is something deeply comforting about knowing your bread was baked by someone close to home.
