Apples are high up on the dirty dozen list as conventional ones are sprayed with loads of nasty chemicals. 

These Apples are packed in a compostable box and come from Tasmania. The farm that produces them - R&R Smith, have been growing apples since 1888, and have been organic since 1998.

Sometimes our fruit and vegetables, including apples, will have blemishes and won't look shiny and perfect like they do in the supermarkets, but they are a taste sensation like the fruit from our childhoods.

Did you know apples only grow in Australia between approximately January and April/May? Australian farmers ensure a year round supply of apples by keeping some in cold storage for the later months. They're still good but of course the best time to enjoy them is when they're fresh off the trees!
