🌱 Daikon Radish from Mt Cotton Organic Farm
This long white beauty is mild, slightly sweet, and super versatile. Slice it raw into salads or grate it over stir-fries for a refreshing crunch. Feeling cosy in all this windy, cool weather? You can also enjoy it roasted or mashed. Packed with fibre and vitamin C, it’s a pretty underrated root veg, in our opinion.
We know you've been missing your tomatoes – we have too. 🥹 But Farmer Kel is them back in for us this week 🙌
The price is up a little this week, and here’s why: the heavy rain earlier this year (remember that soggy March/April?) meant planting was delayed, which has led to a supply shortage across the board.
It’s a good reminder of just how closely our food is tied to the weather and the hard work of our growers. We’re grateful to have them back on the list – and even more grateful for farmers like Kel who do the hard yards to grow the good stuff. 💪🌿
