Hey foodie! 💚
We hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and are settling into the new year well.
It’s an abundant week out at the farms, with growers harvesting up a storm and some seriously beautiful produce rolling in. It’s prime time for fresh, tropical produce, and we’re so excited to share it with you. 👇
🍉 FROM THE FARMS
🐲Spray-Free Red Flesh Dragonfruit – Sandy Creek (Wamuran)
Big, vibrant, red-fleshed dragonfruit grown spray-free on Farmer Kel’s farm using nothing but good soil, mulch and patience. Dragonfruit is a gut-loving superstar, packed with prebiotics, antioxidants and vitamin C.
How to eat: slice in half and scoop, or quarter and peel back that wildly pretty skin. Mildly sweet (think kiwi meets pear) with a soft, juicy flesh. Perfect chilled on a hot arvo.
🍊Organic Ruby Grapefruit – Fat Goose Fruits
Super juicy, tangy-sweet ruby grapefruits. Certified organic and grown with care, these are delicious fresh, juiced, or tossed through salads when you want something bright and zesty.
🥥Organic Drinking Coconuts – Boruca Farm, Cooktown
Straight from tropical North Queensland 🌴 These certified organic drinking coconuts are nature’s sports drink - hydrating, rich in electrolytes and ridiculously refreshing. Crack one open, sip, and go full holiday mode.
💚Organic Choko – Mount View Farm
The humble choko is making a comeback. Mild, crunchy and happy to soak up bold flavours. Peel, remove the seed, then sauté, bake, or throw into curries and stir-fries. Best enjoyed as a side with a big slab of butter and a bit of salt. 🤤
❤️Organic Rhubarb – Mount View Farm, Mt Tamborine
Who doesn’t love a good, tangy rhubarb? Perfect for stewing and adding to breakfasts, desserts or compotes. Rhubarb is rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals, and has been used traditionally to support digestion.
Friendly reminder: only eat the stems - the leaves are a no-go (high in oxalic acid).
🥬Spray-Free Daikon Radish – Peninsula Fresh Organics (Baxter, VIC)
Crisp, mild and slightly sweet, daikon radish is a kitchen all-rounder. Commonly used in Asian cooking, it’s great pickled, grated into salads, roasted, mashed or added to stir-fries. High in vitamin C and fibre, with a lovely fresh crunch.
🥩 MEAT UPDATE
We’re running a bit low on meat this week as we’re still catching up after the Christmas break. Farmers and butchers need holidays too (and very much deserve them), so it’ll take a moment to get back to full abundance.
You’ve all been loving our grass-fed and regenerative meat boxes, which means they’ve been flying out faster than ever. We promise your favourite regen meats will be back in good supply very soon 💚
☀️ Every time you place an order, there’s a real person on a real farm feeling that support. It’s not something we take lightly, and we’re so glad you’re part of this little food-loving, farmer-cheering community. Here’s to another week of amazing, nourishing food.
