Welcome to your weekly behind-the-scenes peek at what’s happening in your favourite little food-loving corner of the world.

Our local farmers & makers are out there doing their usual thing - harvesting, baking, picking and packing the delicious food that ends up in your box.

Here’s what’s happening at Spray-Free Farmacy this week…

 

🌿 FROM THE FARMS 🌿

Yippee for the rain! As I write this, Kel's farm at Sandy Creek has had 30mls in the last 24hrs and they are hoping for more tonight (just not a flood please!). It has been dry as a bone out there, the dam empty and bore at quarter capacity. Rain is a welcome sight!

Stanthorpe has also been unusually dry for this time of year, making apples and pears a little small but extra sweet as juices are concentrated. Figs are shrivelling on the trees and the roma tomato season will be shorter than normal due to heat and lack of water.

It's hard work working with unpredictable Mother Nature! We're so grateful for our farmers and the efforts they go to to bring us good food.

Okay pasta lovin' peeps… this one’s for you.

Certified Organic Spelt Pasta

We’ve added some tasty spelt pasta to the shelves, and it’s giving wholesome nonna energy.

Made from ancient organic spelt grain and crafted using traditional methods, this pasta has a gentle nutty flavour. It’s hearty without feeling heavy and pairs beautifully with:

😋 A simple olive oil, garlic & chilli situation

😋 A big veggie-loaded midweek sauce

Spelt offers a broader range of nutrients than standard wheat/semolina pasta and is naturally lower in gluten.

We’ve got:

 🍝 Fusilli (spirals)

 🍝 Penne

 🍝 Spaghetti

🦪Smoked Pacific Oysters

These oysters are harvested from protected, shallow coastal waters, shucked fresh, then gently smoked over real oak. They’re hand-packed in premium olive oil and have that deep, umami-rich flavour that makes you feel like you’ve really got your life together.

Perfect on sourdough, tossed through pasta, or with crackers and cheese when you need a good hit of zinc.
