Farmacy Weekly Report Week #43

Happy Monday!

How nice is it to see the sun today?! I hope you find some time to enjoy it and plant your feet on the earth today.

Our farmers are certainly grateful. While rain is magnificent and essential, too much is very hard to deal with. Then comes the heat!

This is traditionally a tricky time of year for produce as our farmers adapt to the changing conditions. We will be increasing the aircon, adapting picking and pick up times and putting more quality checks in place to ensure everything is still amazing for you. Please help us out by picking up and unpacking your order quickly. This is especially important if you have cold or frozen items.

PRODUCE UPDATE 

New this week we have fresh Spaghetti Squash from Laidley. I was excited to see people requesting this in our Customer Survey. It's such an interesting and versatile vegetable and makes delicious noodles!

It's so easy to cook - just cut in half, rub with olive oil, salt and pepper and roast in the over for about 40 mins. Then scrape out the noodles and make a beautiful sauce to enjoy it with.

Not to be confused with Rockmelon! (Farmer Kel's husband Ric cut one open recently thinking it was a Rockmelon - certainly not!).

Celery has increased in price this week as we can only get it from Victoria at the moment and our poor farmers down there have been inundated by flooding. We were lucky to find some from another Certified Organic farm down there but it's more expensive. If you love your Celery though it's now available in Bulk - 8 bunches for $60.

We have several more Bulk Buys available this week and more coming! If you're feeding a big family, want to save $$ on your grocery bill or are running a co-op - be sure to check it all out and let us know what else you'd like to see in that space.

GROCERY UPDATE 

Frozen Foods were very popular last week and are being restocked for you as we speak. We have a new flavour of Boulder Chips and Apple Juice is now available in bulk.
