Farmacy Weekly Report Week #5 2022

Farmacy Weekly Report Week #5 2022

Week #4 - deliveries from 3-5 February 2022 (order by midnight Tuesday)

Hi Foodies!

2022 is speeding by - it's almost February! Sadly that means we're nearing the end of some of our summer fruits, that are generally only available around Christmas. This is the LAST WEEK for Mangoes and Watermelon so if you love them as much as me, you might want to order a little extra and freeze so you can enjoy the taste of summer a little longer.

The good news is we now have Dragonfruit available at a cheaper price. They're white flesh, super fresh and spray-free from our Farmer Kel's place near Wamuran. I can't get enough of Dragonfruit at the moment - did you know it's packed with prebiotics? So good for your gut health.

We also have more Nectarines and Grapes - grab them while they last.

Apples are limited to Pink Ladies only at the moment and they're pretty large. We're at the end of our Farmer Denis's stored apples from the 2021 season. New season apples will be ready in the next few weeks.

🍎 PRODUCE UPDATE

New this week we have:

  • Dragonfruit (white flesh) from Wamuran
  • Red Seedless Grapes
  • Tomatillo
  • Gem Squash

Out this week:

  • Raspberries - they're just too fragile in this humid weather
  • Blueberries
  • Green Apples

🛒 GROCERY UPDATE

No new grocery items this week (as we added so many last week!) but we are working on sourcing a few new things that you've been asking for including Macadamia Milk and Sustainable Floss. We love that customers are asking us to stock the things they need so they don't have to go to the supermarket anymore! It's so important to support your small, local businesses.

📰 OTHER NEWS

2 New pick up points

We've recently added pick up points at Griffin (near Redcliffe) and Narangba to make our fresh food more accessible for north siders. If you have friends in those areas, be sure to let them know how easy it is to get their hands on the best, local, spray-free food.

Frozen Berry price increases

Our frozen berry supplier informed us late last year that there would be a significant increase coming on the price of many frozen berries. This is due to massive delays in international shipping and supply shortages. The good news is the price of Wild Blueberries isn't going up much but the price of Raspberries will be going up by around $5 a bag. So you might want to stock up on those over the next couple of weeks before the price goes up!

Have a delicious week!
