The Perfect Mango Smoothie Recipe

We've got an abundance of fresh mangoes for the next few months, so here is a classic but delicious way to use mangoes!

Like all recipe creations, the 'perfect' taste is in the beholder of the tastebuds.

In this week's recipe we will be giving you an insight on how to make what we think is the 'perfect' mango smoothie.

It's really simple.

First you have to start with organic or spray-free mango. Conventional mango will never make the cut - the taste is just incomparable!

It can be fresh or frozen. Frozen is good if you want something thicker or cooler.

Fresh is good if you want something not too cold or have an abundance to use up.

Secondly, you'll need a base. If you want something creamy you can go for almond milk, coconut milk or even yoghurt. Otherwise coconut water is a good option.

Third, you can choose any extra fruit you want. We like to keep it as simple as possible. Banana is our favourite extra fruit to add.

It gives extra smoothness and just tastes divine. Spray-Free/Organic obviously! 

Just make sure at least one of the fruits is frozen, whether that be mango or banana. Trust us on that one.

Lastly - boosters. There are two types of boosters... boosters for the purpose of extra health benefits like spinach or chia seeds, and those for the purpose of taste.

For taste... We recommend adding any of the following ingredients:
  • Vanilla Bean Paste or Vanilla Essence
  • Vanilla Protein Powder
  • Raw Honey

Blend them all up, and you've got yourself the perfect tasting mango smoothie recipe!

Here's a sampler:

Ingredients:

1 cup frozen mango
1-2 cups almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 handful baby spinach
1 tbs raw honey

Method:

Blend it all up and voila, you've got yourself a perfect mango smoothie :)
