🛒 Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

  • 850g chicken drumsticks, pat dry
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • Asian greens
  • 1 red chilli, finely sliced
  • 2 eschallots, finely sliced

Pantry staples (not included in recipe kit):

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

🍽 Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add olive oil, sesame oil, honey, soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Whisk to combine.
  2. Add chicken drumsticks and toss to coat each piece.
  3. (Optional) If time allows, marinate in the fridge for extra flavour.
  4. Preheat oven to 180°C. Place drumsticks on a lined baking tray and pour over remaining marinade. Bake for 40 minutes or until cooked through, turning halfway for best results.
  5. Meanwhile, cook rice according to packet instructions and steam the Asian greens.
  6. Serve drumsticks over rice. Drizzle with any leftover sauce from the baking tray and add greens on the side. Garnish with fresh chilli, sesame seeds and sliced spring onions.

💡 Pro Tips & Substitutions

  • Want extra sauce? Double the marinade ingredients
  • No drumsticks? Use chicken thighs or wings
  • Mild version: Leave out the chilli for a kid-friendly option
  • Leftover idea: Shred the chicken into lettuce cups or wraps
