🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 650g beef mince
  • 3 potatoes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 baby cos lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 apple, peeled and grated
  • 1 beetroot, peeled and grated

Pantry staples (not included in recipe kit):

  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp honey
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 egg
  • Olive oil
  • Avocado (optional)
  • Sauce of choice (try Gevity or Mingle)

🍽 Instructions

  1. Chips: Preheat oven to 180°C. Peel and cut potatoes into chips. Toss in a bowl with olive oil and salt, then spread on a lined tray and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  2. Beet Relish: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add half the sliced onion and cook until softened. Add beetroot, apple, and cumin. Sauté for 2–3 minutes to soften. Stir in apple cider vinegar and honey. Cook until relish is soft, adding a splash of water if needed. Let cool.
  3. Caramelised Onion: In a separate pan, heat more olive oil and cook remaining onion over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring regularly until caramelised.
  4. Patties: In a bowl, mix beef mince with garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, and egg. Shape into patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  6. Assemble Bowls: Layer lettuce, tomato, patties, caramelised onion, and beet relish in bowls. Serve with chips on the side and top with avocado and your favourite sauce.
